You ever feel like everyone else got the manual to “how to stay consistent,” and yours is just… missing?
You make the lists. You color-code the planner. You promise yourself this week will be different.
But three days in, you’re drowning in post-its and caffeine, wondering why you can drive results for clients but can’t seem to keep up with your own.
If that sounds familiar, you’re not lazy, your wiring’s just different.
And I’m about to show you why that’s the best news you’ve had all year.
The Real Problem: You’re Trying to Drive the Wrong Car
Here’s what I mean.
Most of the “productivity advice” out there was written for people with a completely different design than yours: mentally, energetically, even emotionally.
You’re out here trying to run your business like a Tesla when you’re built like a Jeep.
That’s why your system keeps breaking down. It’s not because you’re broken, but because the system isn’t built for your kind of engine.
Productivity Is Personal
I used to believe discipline was the secret to success.
Until I realized discipline looks different depending on how your energy works.
That’s when I stumbled into Human Design.
Now, before your eyes roll so far back you can see your last bad decision — stay with me.
This isn’t astrology or crystals or your aunt’s moon water.
Human Design is a framework that helps you understand how your energy wants to move, not how you’ve been taught it should.
When I learned mine, I finally stopped fighting my flow.
Here’s What I Mean In Action
I had a coaching client, let’s call her Kim.
Kim is a life coach with a heart bigger than her ClickUp board and she’s in that scaling stage, team of two, trying to grow to five.
Note: This is a story about a female client; however, human design works for everyone.
She came to me saying, “Tarletta, I’m tired all the time. I can’t stay consistent with my content. I keep burning out, getting frustrated, and starting over.”
When I looked at her setup, everything was organized. But when I looked at her, I saw a mismatch.
Kim’s Human Design chart told us she’s a Projector, which means she’s not built to go-go-go. She’s built to guide, not grind.
But her whole calendar looked like a Generator’s: back-to-back calls, admin, content, then trying to “batch record” all day Sunday.
She was trying to run a marathon in shoes three sizes too small.
So, we rebuilt her week to align her design: more rest, more reflection, fewer random tasks. She focused her energy on guiding her team and creating from inspiration, not obligation.
Within two weeks, she told me: “I actually like my business again. I’m able to get more stuff done without feeling like I’m doing all the things at once,”
That’s the point.
Your productivity doesn’t need to look like someone else’s to work.
Step-by-Step: How to Find Your Flow
Let’s pop the hood and walk through it.
Step 1: Learn your type.
Go to myhumandesign.com. (Not an affiliate link, just a good one.)
It’ll give you a chart and tell you your type: Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector, Manifestor, or Reflector.
Step 2: Read the “Strategy” and “Authority.”
Those two lines will change how you make decisions and manage time.
For example:
Generators work best when responding — not forcing action.
Projectors need invitations — they thrive when others recognize their wisdom.
Manifestors are meant to initiate — but only when they’re emotionally clear.
Manifesting Generators can do multiple things — but not all at once.
Reflectors are lunar beings — they need a full cycle to make major decisions.
I plugged mine right into ChatGPT and had it give me an overview. Ask the questions you need. Originally, I used mine to determine if the projects on my to-do list were aligned with my natural mode of operation; then, I went deeper and used it to create a weekly/monthly schedule to keep up with my projects while keeping space for family, rest, and growth.
Step 3: Audit your current workflow.
Pull out your planner, your Asana, or whatever chaos catcher you’re using.
Then ask:
Where am I forcing myself to operate out of alignment?
Where do I naturally get energy, and where do I always crash?
Step 4: Build your week around your rhythm.
This isn’t about doing less. It’s about doing right.
Maybe you only record podcasts on the days you wake up chatty.
Maybe you block Mondays for rest, not meetings.
Maybe you give yourself permission to batch when inspired instead of scheduled.
You need a map back to you. This is a good starting point to create it.
Step 5: Protect your energy like you protect your passwords.
Once you understand your design, guard it.
Stop letting other people’s urgency become your emergency.
If you’re a Projector, no, you do not need a 6 a.m. morning routine.
If you’re a Generator, no, you don’t have to meditate through boredom: go build something that lights you up.
Why This Matters for Early-Stage Coaches and Consultants
When you’re early or scaling, the temptation is to do everything, to chase all the shiny tools and systems because that’s what “successful people” do.
But the truth is, your business will only grow as fast as your energy allows.
You can automate the funnel, you can outsource the admin, but you can’t delegate your alignment.
When you work in sync with your design, you stop leaking energy and that’s when the momentum starts to compound.
You start saying “yes” slower, “no” faster, and “not now” without guilt. And on the flip side, your calendar feels lighter, your creativity sharper, your results bigger.
How Human Design Shifts Your RevOps Engine
Let’s bring this down to brass tacks. Your Human Design doesn’t just change how you work — it changes where you should focus in your revenue operations.
There are three major gears in your RevOps system that respond immediately when you start honoring your energy type:
1. Client Acquisition (Marketing + Sales Flow)
When you understand your energy type, your lead generation gets cleaner. Generators and MGs sell best when they respond to real conversations, feedback, or questions. So a reactive sales system (DMs, quizzes, workshops) will outperform cold outreach every time.
Projectors, on the other hand, convert best through invitation. That means thought leadership content, panels, and warm intros will do more for your sales pipeline than another webinar funnel.
Manifestors? They lead with initiation. You build demand by starting movements, not by waiting for permission.
Once you know how your energy attracts people, you can stop copying what the internet says “works” and build a sales process that actually fits your fuel line.
2. Offer Delivery + Client Experience
This is where most coaches burn out. They design a delivery model that drains them. But when you align delivery with your Human Design, retention and referrals skyrocket.
If you’re a Generator, you thrive with routine. Your clients need clear milestones and consistent check-ins. Projectors? You’ll love shorter, high-touch intensives where you can guide deeply and rest after. Manifesting Generators? Give yourself flexibility. Build modular offers that keep your curiosity alive.
When your energy feels good inside delivery, your clients feel it too — and satisfied clients create your best marketing channel: word of mouth.
3. Internal Operations + Team Rhythm
This one’s the silent killer.
Most founders design their ops around “what’s efficient,” not “what’s sustainable.”
But your team’s workflow should mirror your energetic flow. If you’re a Manifestor, your team needs clear autonomy. They can’t thrive if you micromanage.
If you’re a Projector, build in buffer time and reflection meetings. You don’t thrive in constant doing; you thrive in strategic seeing.
Generators? Give yourself a structured environment and clear metrics because chaos kills your momentum.
When your internal systems match your energetic style, you stop fighting your team and start leading them with ease.
Bottom line:
Revenue operations isn’t just about dashboards and automations — it’s about alignment.
When your acquisition, delivery, and internal ops move in rhythm with your natural energy, you create a flywheel that feeds itself.
That’s sustainable growth — not just profitable, but peaceful.
The Fix: Alignment Before Action
The most productive thing you can do this week isn’t another to-do list. It’s discovering how your system actually works so you stop fixing what isn’t broken and start optimizing what is.
So before you download another planner or swear this is your “focused season,” try this instead:
👉 Go to myhumandesign.com.
👉 Get your chart.
👉 Read it like it’s your owner’s manual.
I promise, it works. Understanding your design can change how you build, lead, rest, and sell.
It’s not an affiliate link, it’s an act of self-respect.
Because the best system in the world means nothing if it’s built for someone else’s wiring.
